Initial Post

1. I rate my physical well being a 3. My spiritual well being is a 7. My psychological well being is a 7. The reason my physical well being is a 3 is because I am not well. I have many health problems and I am only 39 years old. My spiritual and psychological well being are pretty good. I can always do better though.

2. My goal for my physical well being is to start working out again. It will help me so much. My goal for my spiritual well being is too make sure that I get more in touch with my inner self. My goal for my psychological well being is to think for positive thoughts all the time and to be confident.

3. The activities that I can do in my life to assist in these goals are to be more proactive, think a positive thought when a negative thought enters my mind, do more meditation and relaxation exercises, and make sure that I work out 3 times a week.

4. I enjoyed the exercise very much. It was so relaxing. I am going to do this exercise again when I need to relax if I am stressed.

  1. This blogging thing has been confusing for me and I wasn't sure what questions to answer until I read your blog.
I can relate to your physical health rating. My would be a 3 as well...and I'm only 25!
What are your health problems? You don't have to answer that if you would rather not talk about it. My health problems are...celiac disease, food/outdoor allergies, insomnia, depression, and anxiety....just to name a few. I love learning about health and wellness because I know it is going to help me be a healthier individual.

  2. I found the loving-kindness practice beneficial. It felt like my heart opened up while doing it. I had a hard time visioning a group of individuals though. I definitely would suggest this to others. It is a good exercise to do that can help you open up your heart and mind. It is relaxing too.

The concept of "mental workout" can result in structural change. Which will transform the mind in reducing negative emotions and thoughts into positive. Therefore reducing mental distress and physical disease.

I have already started fostering mental workouts since I began taking this class. I take time throughout the day and think positive thoughts. When a negative thought enters my mind I stop and try to refocus my mind on a positive thought.

  3. 1. I liked both the loving-kindness and the subtle mind exercises. I got really relaxed doing the subtle mind exercise. It might be because I was tired though. Both of them will take time and patience to get them going and working to where you feel a benefit from them. I have a very hard time keeping my mind on one thing. I always have racing thoughts in my mind. These exercises would help me so much with this. I am going to start doing the subtle mind exercise two times a week, then three times and then maybe everyday. I really did enjoy them both and know that I could benefit from them both.

2.Spiritual wellness has a big impact on mental and physical wellness. If a person doesn't have all three then they can't experience wholeness. Spiritually makes a person feel happy, healthy, and whole. Prayer has healing qualities. Without this in a person's life they will not ever flourish. I have always been spiritual. I wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't a part of my life. My Lord and Savior is the reason why I am here. I pray throughout the day and at night. It is a big part of my life and gives me hope and happiness.
