Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course. (Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples.
I have enjoyed all of these exercises and practice sessions. It is hard to pick which ones I like the most. However the two I chose are the loving-kindness and sublte mind exercises. I have been doing these regularly. I am going to continue to do these exercises Monday, Wen., and Friday every week. If I feel like I am having a hard or stressful day I will stop and take a few minutes to do one of these. They help me to relax and destress. I have enjoyed these exercises and will practice them regularly to foster "mental fitness."
I am glad that your are finding these exercises helpful. It bothered me at first when you stated that you only did them on Mon. Wed. and Fri. Then I thought about it as long as you are doing them if you feel it is necessary than there isn't anything wrong with scheduling a set time to do them so you don't forget during the stress of life. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you have worked out a routine for doing your exercises. I'm trying to get into a routine but it's hard when my schedule changes every week. And this week my sinuses are killing me...Sometimes I feel like life just keeps throwing me curve balls but I am thankful for this class and our exercises that help me learn how to slow down. I really liked the visualization exercise, maybe I will try to do that one daily. I think I might also put up some photos of the events I visualize to help keep me focused and to remind myself to take time for reflection and rest.
