1. Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
The scores in unit 3 were spiritual was a 7, my psychological was a 7 and my physical was a 3. In unit 9 my scores are spiritual is an 8, psychological is a 6, and my physical is a 5. The scores have changed a little bit but not much. I find it strange that my psychological aspect has gone down 1. My physical has gone up 2 and I haven't starting working out yet. That is strange. Maybe at the time I was feeling stronger mentally when I did my scores for unit 9.
2. Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
I have made progress in doing the mind exercises but I haven't done anything else different.
3. Have you implemented the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
I only have implemented the relaxation exercises and meditation practices.
4. Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your ability to assist others?
I have enjoyed this course so much! I have learned a lot about health and wellness and all that is involved. I have started improving my well-being. I haven't started working on my physical at all but now that I am done with my degree I will have more time to focus on myself. I have learned some new aspects to healing that will help me with my fibromyalgia. The only thing I found difficult were some of the relaxation exercises and meditation practices. I need to work more on calming my mind. This experience will help me to show others a different approach to healing. That in order to heal your body you have to focus on the mind, body, and spirit as a whole.

Unit 9 Final Project
Unit 9 Project
I.
The reason it is important for health
and wellness professionals to develop
psychologically,
spiritually, and physically is to be able to incorporate into their own
lives
what they tell their patients. This gives the health and wellness professional
the
inner
aspects of health and life (Dacher, 2006). By experiencing these practices in
their
own life they are able to know firsthand and share it with their patients. As
the
saying
goes “practice what you preach.”
I
need to develop my psychological and physical areas. For my psychological I
need
to
work on meditation and training my mind. I need to focus on calming my mind and
controlling
my thoughts. For my physical I need to
start working out at least 3 times
a
week. I am going to start focusing on these as soon as I get finished with this
term. I
will
be graduating and have more time.
II.
I have assessed my health in each domain
by looking at how much I have grown and
what
I can continue to do to achieve integral health. My spiritual domain is the
strongest
out of the three. I still have a ways to go on my psychological and physical
aspects.
I score my wellness spiritually an 8, my psychological a 6, and my physical a
5.
III.
My goal for the physical aspect is to
start working out at least 3 times a week. My
goal
for the psychological aspect is to start meditating 3 times a week and when I
need
to distress. I also am going to do relaxation exercises regularly. The last
goal for
my
psychological area is to work on calming my mind and controlling my thoughts.
My goal for the spiritual aspect is to
continue praying all the time.
IV.
The strategies that I plan on
implementing for my physical area are: I
want to start
riding
a stationary bike and weight lifting. I have a room in my house already set up
for
working out. I am going to start working out as soon as I finish this term. The
strategies
that I will use for my psychological aspect are the subtle mind exercise and
mind
training exercises such as meditation and relaxation. The spiritual strategies
that
I
already have implemented in my life are prayer and meditation.
V.
Within the next six months I will assess
my progress by using the integral assessment
in
the Dacher book. I also plan on reading the book over again as needed to assess
how
I am doing. I will look at this plan to see if I am keeping up with these
goals. The
strategies
that I will continue to do to maintain my practices are to do meditation
regularly,
relaxation exercises, work on my subtle mind exercise, work out regularly,
assess
my progress regularly, and continue to flourish.

Unit 8 Initial Post
Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course. (Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples.
I have enjoyed all of these exercises and practice sessions. It is hard to pick which ones I like the most. However the two I chose are the loving-kindness and sublte mind exercises. I have been doing these regularly. I am going to continue to do these exercises Monday, Wen., and Friday every week. If I feel like I am having a hard or stressful day I will stop and take a few minutes to do one of these. They help me to relax and destress. I have enjoyed these exercises and will practice them regularly to foster "mental fitness."

Unit 7
1.Complete the "Meeting Asciepius" exercise on track #4 of the Dacher CD. Describe your meditative practice(s) for the week and discuss the experience. Explain how mindfulness or meditation has fostered an increase in your psychological or spiritual wellness. How can you continue to apply these practices in your life to foster greater health and wellness?
My meditative practices this week have been relaxing. I can tell the difference in my health when I practice these. I feel like my mind is calmer and I am happier. It will take some time and patience to get good at these. I am going to do these several times a week to achieve integral health.
2. Describe the saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477) How does this apply to the health and wellness professional? Do you have an obligation to your clients to be developing your health psychologically, physically, and spiritually? Why or why not? How can you implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life?
In order for someone to be able to understand what a person is trying to convey they need to have experienced it for themselves.
This applies to a health and wellness professional because they need to practice the things that they tell their patients to do. For example if they tell a patient they need to stop smoking they need to not smoke as well.
Yes, all healthcare professionals have an obligation to develop their health as much as they possibly can and continue to do so. It is important to set an example for the patients.
I can implement psychological and spiritual growth in life by continuing to pray and practice mindfulness.

Unit 6
Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area?
The don't feel like I got anything from the exercise or assessment. I think I need more time to figure out areas to develop. I know that I can work on training my mind. I am focusing on loving-kindness and changing negative thoughts to positive.
I didn't discover anything about myself from the exercise or assessment unfortunately. I am going to continue doing the universal loving-kindness exercise. Maybe I can feel something from it if I continue to do it.
I am going to focus on my interpersonal development. I want to continue to work on this until I can love my enemies and others besides my family and friends. I can continue to do the loving-kindness and universal loving kindness exercises. Also I am working on positive versus negative thinking.

Initial Post
1. I rate my physical well being a 3. My spiritual well being is a 7. My psychological well being is a 7. The reason my physical well being is a 3 is because I am not well. I have many health problems and I am only 39 years old. My spiritual and psychological well being are pretty good. I can always do better though.
2. My goal for my physical well being is to start working out again. It will help me so much. My goal for my spiritual well being is too make sure that I get more in touch with my inner self. My goal for my psychological well being is to think for positive thoughts all the time and to be confident.
3. The activities that I can do in my life to assist in these goals are to be more proactive, think a positive thought when a negative thought enters my mind, do more meditation and relaxation exercises, and make sure that I work out 3 times a week.
4. I enjoyed the exercise very much. It was so relaxing. I am going to do this exercise again when I need to relax if I am stressed.
